Free Event: Introduction to Ayurvedic Yoga for the Fall Season

September 7, 2018 @ 6:00 pm - 8:15 pm PDT

Free!
Join us for a night of learning and healing! You’ll discover:
  • What is Ayurveda and its connection to Yoga?
  • Foundational principles of Ayurveda
  • How to take your Yoga practice to the next level with Ayurveda
  • Common imbalances during the fall season
  • Yoga and lifestyle tips for the fall season
  • A fall seasonal Asana practice

Are you interested in learning more about the principles of Ayurveda and its relationship with Yoga? Ayurveda and Yoga are complementary health sciences with origins in the ancient Vedic texts. Ayurveda’s personalized approach and seasonal philosophy for healing can deepen your Yoga practice, enhancing your ability to manage existing imbalances and even prevent disease.

In this free talk with Dr. Vaidya Jayarajan, learn from an Ayurvedic master how combining the sister sciences achieves a streamlined  program for total mind, body and spirit healing. You’ll be introduced to foundational Ayurvedic principles including the concept of the elements and individual constitution. From this personalized and holistic perspective, you’ll learn how to customize your Yoga practice for your unique needs, as well as additional lifestyle recommendations you can practice everyday such as diet, herbs and exercise.

Finally, we’ll roll out the mats and experience a seasonal-based Yoga asana practice with Angela, Eka’s founder. This donation-based class will move through a combination of poses to ground, warm and cool the system during this transitional season.

Angela Glaz (500 hour E-RYT) is the founder of Eka Yoga. She first began her practice of meditation and yoga in 2002 to alleviate chronic back pain and symptoms of depression. Since then, Angela has come along way! She has been lucky enough to travel to India twice to study Yoga and Ayurveda and deepen her own practice. Angela has been continually blessed and inspired by the ways she has seen Yoga and Ayurveda transform lives and bodies, including her own. She has a genuine passion for teaching all things and finds joy in encouraging her students to explore their own unique gifts. That passion and belief in honoring every individual’s unique qualities is what drove Angela to create and open what is now Eka Yoga. Angela teaches with Midwest heart, West Coast soul, and enough quirkiness to make the most cynical crack a smile. When not teaching yoga, you’ll most likely find Angela urban hiking with her fur baby (Desta the dachshund) or getting experimental with cooking in the kitchen.
