Vaidya. Vandana Baranwal BSc, BAMS, MD (Masters in Ayurveda), founder of AyurveDatri, is a leading expert of Ayurveda specializing in women’s health. She has more than 25 years of experience involving various aspects of clinical, research, teaching and education in Ayurveda.

Growing up in Banaras, India, she has been very fortunate to learn from some of the world’s most renowned and respected teachers and takes pride in her heritage and feels honored to pass it on to the next generation.
Before moving to the USA, she was Professor in SDM College of Ayurveda, Hassan, Karnataka.

She is Board of Directors at Council for Ayurveda Research, USA (CAR), professional member National Ayurvedic Medical association, USA, (NAMA), State Director Ohio at Association of Ayurvedic Professionals of North America, USA (AAPNA). She continues to be associated with various Ayurveda schools and organizations in India and USA.

She is a published author of “Stree Roga Vimarsh”, a book of Ayurvedic Gynecology and “Prasuti Tantra Sandarshini”, a book of Ayurvedic obstetrics. She is a regional editor with Journal of Research and Education in Indian Medicine. She has published many research papers and writes regularly for various Ayurveda magazines.Her passion and love for Ayurveda fuels her vision for the development and growth of Ayurveda in the Western world, including creating and implementing high quality education and training programs as well as practicing various aspects of Ayurveda for optimal health and wellbeing.

She is recipient of many awards including “Charaka Award” for excellence in teaching by AAPNA.

Women’s wellness is close to her heart and to help and support woman in their journey from menarche to menopause, she has founded AyurveDatri – Women Wellness Solutions, connecting women to ancient healing science of Ayurveda and promoting self-healing and wellbeing.

The Ashtanga Hridayam is one of the primary ancient root texts of Ayurveda. Today, the Ashtanga Hridayam continues to serve as a root source for Ayurvedic philosophy and protocol, providing clear guidelines in all aspects of health.

On demand: 18-23 hours per part – self-paced

Explore the ancient Ayurvedic text, the Ashanga Hridayam from the beginning with an Ayurvedic Scholar and Master Clinician. Starting with chapter 1, you’ll be guided through the Vedic principles. Learn to chant the verses in Sanskrit and discover the deepest meaning behind the Ayurvedic principles.

Panchakarma Technician (PKT) Scope of Practice

Panchakarma Technician (PKT)

Scope of Practice

Panchakarma is a process of cleansing and rejuvenating the system based on the ancient system of Ayurveda. It works with the subtle flow of energy, incorporating various bodywork techniques to allow healing at the deepest level. Using natural ingredients, it is customized for individuals based on their constitution and health conditions.

This course covers Panchakarma’s philosophy, principles and methods if implementation, as outlined in the Vedic texts. Upon successful completion of the course you will be awarded a Panchakarma Technician Certificate.

The individual’s scope of practice will be more specifically designated by local/state guidelines. It is the individual’s responsibility to be compliant.

Panchakarma Technicians can:

  • Perform all Ayurvedic hands-on Shamana therapies in a clinic or private practice with an emphasis on utilizing the techniques for purposes of pacification. Shamana includes external calming procedures & regimen without internal cleansing.
  • Perform Panchakarma therapies in connection with a Panchakarma program, under the guidance of a qualified Ayurvedic Practitioner or Ayurvedic Doctor, with an emphasis on utilizing the therapies for purposes of Shamana and Shodhana chikitsaShodhana includes detoxification & purification procedures and requires the advanced clinical knowledge of an Ayurvedic Doctor.
  • Support and help deliver the Panchakarma treatment program designed by the Ayurvedic Practitioner or Ayurvedic Doctor.

Panchakarma Technicians cannot:

  • Diagnose diseases.
  • Treat diseases.
  • Prescribe treatments or medicines.
  • Design Panchakarma plans with both Shamana and Shodhana therapies  (unless allowed in your scope of practice under other certification).

Clinical Internships

Clinical Internships for Level II Practitioners

Our clinical internships offer Kerala Ayurveda students, alumni and professionals from all schools of Ayurveda the opportunity to refine their scope of practice as a level II Ayurvedic Practitioner.

Prerequisite: Internship candidates must be enrolled students on clinical topics, or graduates of an Ayurvedic Practitioner program.

5 days - in person

Sessions are offered every 3-4 months

Immerse yourself in a week of Ayurvedic practice with our dynamic Wellness Center team managing a wide variety of cases and disorders. In addition to satisfying our level II Ayurvedic Practitioner certification requirements, this internship is open to level II students and graduates from all schools for clinical training.

Group Sessions: 15 days – in person at our centers in Cochin and Bangalore, India
